Who is Pathanjali?
After getting to know the various contributions by him to the field of Yoga, one might be inquisitive to know the memoirs of Sree Pathanjali Maharishi.
He is neither a poet nor a musician. He is the Author for our long, healthy and peaceful living.
Being an aspiring devotee of Lord Shiva, his lifetime wish was to visit the divine and the holy Nataraja temple at Chidhambaram. Blessed by God’s grace, Sree Pathanjali Maharishi happened to visit the temple where happened the event of his life. Overwhelmed by his sincere devotion, much to his surprise the Lord himself appeared and danced in front of him whom made Sree Pathanjali Maharishi drenched in enigmatic delight. Maharishi happened to dharshan the glorious silhouette of Lord Shiva and felt completely ecstatic as his dream was fulfilled. After the magical moment, drenched in tears Maharishi performed Pushpanjali to the Lotus feet of Lord.
As he observed the mystifying movements of the Lord when he danced around, he was greatly inspired and thus designed and introduced it in Yoga steps. Maharishi was then called PAATHANJALI. Over lapse of time, it got modified as Pathanjali. Now his art form of Yoga and life saving methods are in practice for fruitful and a rewarding life.

About Pathanjali Maharishi- The Guru of Ashtanga Yoga life:
Sree Pathanjali Maharishi is considered to be the AUTHOR OF YOGA.
Sree Pathanjali Maharishi is the Guru of Yoga. His form of Yoga is called ASHTANGAM. It emphasizes that there are eight stages to attain happy life of which the seventh stage is the meditation. Ashtanga Yoga bestows upon man the boon of happy, healthy and a life filled with peace and harmony.
This is not just the secret of human body but it is an anthology of scientific secrets included in his important steps. The Yoga Kendra training centre that puts the accent to this fathomless art was established by Sathguru “O” Bikshu in the year 1986.
It is said to have been received from Lord Shiva. His Ashtanga Yoga is named as Raja Yoga.
